Granger

So today's post will be about our new addition. Skylar is getting a kitty. Her drama coach's at had kittens and Skylar begged for one, ha ha. We went to the owner's house on Monday to chose the kitty Skylar wanted, but she won't be ready to come home for about  week.
Skylar is naming her new Kitty Granger from Hermione Granger. The Harry Potter series. Our cat is named Potter and she said if she ever got an orange cat she'd call it Weasley, pretty cute idea!
We had a yard sale on Saturday and she sold her hamster. (it was sold before we even finished setting up!) and a few other things, so on Sunday she took her money and spent it all on Granger. She bought litter, litter box, food, bowls, toys, etc. Skylar is super excited and can not wait for Granger to come home. We are ready now!

Space Mice

On Monday May23rd Skylar's Drama Club put on a  production called Space Mice. They needed items for the bake sale so I sent in this. It started off as a $3 clearanced Wilton Over the Hill Cupcake tower at Wal*Mart and ended being a Space Mice Display stand!
The center piece had "aged to perfection" and "over the hill" all over it, so I simply colored it with a black Sharpie. The topper required a bit more work. I cut out 2 green stars (from a poster board we had) for front and back. I wrote "Space Mice" with my trusted Sharpie and drew a quick little mouse. Trimmed it w/glue and glitter, glued it on, assembled entire thing, and wah-la! Cupcake stand built for some mice!
Cupcakes were simple Devil's Food and vanilla frosting. I did try to be cutesy and make some mice on top. I bought licorice for the whiskers but decided against it. I liked them as is. Hope you readers do to!
Skylar's Drama co-coach really made me happy. She was all impressed and took photos and was calling people over to look at them. I know it sounds silly and I'm 29, but I was actually proud of it, haha. Yeah I know, grow up right? hahaha
Skylar's play was so ridiculously cute. She was an orange Space Mouse. I loved watching her perform and we all think she has some serious potential there. He actual Drama Coach is begging her to come back next year, but Skylar isn't sure she wants to yet. She said to me, "I think she is afraid of surpassing her friends because she has a lot of untapped talent there. Her voice is simply amazing as well. I think she may even be afraid to reveal it all. " It was very sweet. I can't wait to see what type of adult Skylar becomes. She fancinates me on a daily basis.

May18, 11 (WIUW:Brownies)

TODAY ME AND JEFF HAVE BEEN MARRIED 10 YEARS!!!! WOW!!

So today for WIUW the kids made a brownie and Skylar decorated it for our anniversary.
Skylar cracked the eggs

Sebastian added the water

and the oil

then stirred it up

He wasn't happy with Sissy finishing the stirring

But she blends it better, sorry baby!!

He got to help add the wet to the dry!

and stir that!

Gotta taste the batter

Skylar poured it into our (very loved) brownie pan

Then she decorated it. YAY! so pretty

Thanks Skylar and Sebastian! Best brownie ever!

Say Cheese!!!

Oh my goodness!! I was in complete awe on Monday Morning when my mail arrived. My beautiful shiny gunmetal blue (not black like I expected) camera was suffocating in this black box. I rescued the poor thing from it's wrapping and set it on charge instantly. Then I grabbed the book. The encyclopedia. WOW, this thing came with some serious instructions! Before I gave myself a migraine by reading it, I figured I would just marvel at it's beauty. I attached the tiny little lens cap strap (which I highly advice so you won't loose it) and then the bigger -what I call neck-strap. I brought the camera around to everyone in my house showing them this adorable new camera. I couldn't even do anything, like turn it on, because the battery was on charge. I knew the time had came and I couldn't avoid it. I had to read the book. The scary encyclopedia sized book. Other wise, everything would be set to auto and I would basically get what I can get from my Kodak. So I picked it up.
An hour later I still sat staring at this book, flipping back and forth and looking at my camera. I was intimated. By a CAMERA. How odd, right? I started thinking maybe I bit off more than I could chew. Would I ever be able to create beautiful pictures?
After the battery was charged (took 2 hours 10 minutes) I decided to just start playing. I hoped something I read would have found it's way into some part of my brain because on the surface I had no clue what words I soaked in. I snapped a couple pics in Auto Mode, which gave me my Kodak type of quality. Then I tried out Macro. OMG!! Love this setting. you can get up to 1cm from your subject and as long as you properly have the other things set, it's all sorts of gorgeousness! I played around with various settings and took TONS of photos, deleting all my blurry ones or ones that didn't look the way I wanted. Here are some examples. Oh, and yes I still think my 1st impression was right. This camera is hard to get down, still don't have it 100%, BUT given these were all taken by a complete amateur on her 1st photo shoot around her house, I think it's pretty impressive I mention I LOVE this camera yet??? Cuz I do!!!

My "Loved Macros"

Aperture (blurring the background)

Probably my complete favorite. I even got the dewdrops!

This was cool. I got Skylar's frog in it's tank, while in her dark room!

My living room is the worst, so I was pretty impressed by this!

Running Water to show movement: love it

This was fun. I opened my window and turned on the flash. It was uber dark, so I had no clue what I'd get.

Sebastian's Saturday

Ok, so in my Mommy Group (an online group of the best people that all have October 09 babies!!) we are doing a thing called A Day In The Life of---. (this was my idea and yet I still failed at doing it completely right, geesh, haha) We were to document everything our babies did for an entire day.
For some reason, it's not letting me post pictures over there so I am going to do my thread as a blog entry and C&P it to that site. I hope y'all enjoy his day, too!
So the weekends are weird for us and everything gets all out of whack, mainly because time quickly ceases to be a factor in the day, haha
At about 8:20am, my monster woke up full of smiles and cuddles.

After a quick diaper change and cuppy, I asked if we could lay back down. He said yes, we I turned off the light and we layed there talking and snuggling until 9:10am, which is Med Time so we HAD to get up. Bummer.
1st up is Antibiotics for his ears

Then it's 2 puffs from his FloVent
After a quick wardrobe change it was on to breakfast. Lately he has been wanting to eat upstairs with my mom, so I bring his food with us. (As for those that don't know, we live in a duplex with my In-Laws on the other half and my mom is currently staying with them. Interesting lil tidbit for ya, haha)
Cuppy w/Ice Water, Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal and a clementine

Not long after breakfast, the mail comes. Sebastian gets very excited about watching the truck pull up. He will watch out the window until it pulls away, tell me "done" (because the driver is done getting out our mail, lol) and I go bring it all in. We always have to make sure Sebastian gets something.
Another complete MUST for him daily (like the mail) is Bird Watching. He says bird on occasion, but mainly just signs it and gets super excited. Apparently though they are all "Green". Sebastian is too young to lie, so it must be true!
Pappy decided to take Sebastian on a walk around the yard. Sebastian just adores being outdoors and looking for insects, birds, planes, everything.

Then he came inside and played for a while until it was nap time.

I gave him to Daddy, who typically does sleep-times. and Sebastian slept for a touch over 2 hours. (12:30-2:45) Then it was onto lunch.
I think he was still sleepy!! HAHAHA

OK, a banana woke him up
Next up, after lunch was a Kroger trip. The idea was to gt something for dinner, but we ended up not even eating it. Oh well, tomorrow's meal is planed I guess!

When we got back Sebastian's Gnomie was there!!! (my sister and her crew. Cassie, my older niece, calls Sebastian her Gnomie.-odd story behind that one, haha) Sebastian doesn't get to see her as much lately because being a girl of nearly 17 is pretty busy. I enjoy it when she visits though. Sebastian had lots of fun with her. They spent the rest of the day together.

Teaching him to text

He'd rather talk the old fashion way...THAT'S my boy!!!

This must have been a serious conversation because he was super into it!

Giving kisses

Kissy face!

YUM!! Sharing a pickle

Once everyone left, we did too. We were pretty hungry so we stopped by Long John Silver for our dinner. It was already 9pm, which is Sebastian's everyday bedtime (and Skylar's weekday bedtime)

Then we went to Wal*Mart. The goal was toilet paper. Our cart ended up with way more than that, what is up with that store? They definitely know they can take my money, I very rarely go there and JUST get what I went there for. Every other time involves Impulse Buying. oi
Finally we get home and Its time for bedtime routine's. It's already 11:30pm! Skylar is fine and handles most of her stuff herself. Sebastian needed changed and his nighttime Meds. I didn't get pics of this since he was getting sleepy and cranky and wouldn't be still, haha. Since we no longer had the antibiotic I was glad to just have his FloVent, but nope. I had to give him Benedryl for the 1st time.  This afternoon he broke out in an allergic rash and pedi says he's fine and to just watch him. (Any followup questions on his rash, or ANYTHING, but comment and ask away!
Then it was time for bed!! Goodnight! Thanks for sharing our Saturday!!
