March7,11 (MM: Fun w/stickers)

Today I just opened a bag of foam stickers and gave Sebastian a piece of paper and let him go. Some ended up on us, some on the paper and alot on the floor! It was a lot of fun just watching him play with stickers.
We also worked on body parts with them (which he pretty much knows all the basics anyway, it was a fun way to touch on that topic though) I'd say "can you put the sticker on mommy's nose?" etc and he would, lol. Lots of fun!

March2,11 (WIUW:mashed potatoes)

Sorry I am so late getting this on here!!!
So today I decided he can help with a dinner item. Mashed Potatoes. And this is how you make them:
Step1: decided how many potatoes you will need (1 per child 1-2 per adult depending on potato size)

Step2: have you helpful daughter rinse them off
Step3: Have an adult peel and cut into small squares (Mommy's job)
Step4: add cut potatoes to a pot, cover w/water and your favorite seasonings. Bring to boil and boil uncovered until soft (10-12 minutes)
Step5: remove from pot, drain water and decide on your fillings (ours change alot, but tonight was butter, milk, and cream cheese)
Step6: add your fillings
Step 7: Mash it all together (Sebastian loved this part!!)
Just another pic to show his excitement. He actually cried when I took it away!
Step 8: Add your potatoes to the rest of your meal (tonight it was Caribbean pork, and steamed veggies)
and Skylar wanted to show her plate :)

Feb 28,11 (MM:WaterColor Imprints)

Today we did WaterColor Imprints. Instructions are simple. You basically draw a picture using crayons, and then use watercolor paints and paint over top of it. The crayon pops through when your artwork dries.
Sebastian seem to enjoy dipping his paintbrush into the water and tasting it rather than putting it on the paper, lol. And yes, he even had to sample the paint. oi. Good thing I buy Crayola products!! When working with toddlers (especially the ones like my lil monster) always keep in mind to buy products that are non toxic!!
Skylar had a lot of fun with this as well. She had to rush through her picture though because her show was coming on, haha
their crayon drawing (yes, Skylar has a pig in hers, she Loves pigs)

Feb 21,11 (MM:Color w/markers)

So todays Masterpiece Monday was a total bust. The day got away from us and then we left in the afternoon going to various appointments. When we got back it was late, but I figured I would see if he wanted to at least color a picture.
He scribbled very little and handed the markers back to me. "Ni-ni" he said as he walked to the door. I got him all changed into his PJs and he fell asleep quite quickly. Oh well, maybe another day. Everything we do is based on him. I do not pressure him to do anything. If he doesn't want to then we won't. today was a perfect example of that.

Feb14,11 (MM: Pudding Art)

Today for Masterpiece Monday we did Pudding Art.
I made a cheap store brand chocolate pudding. The instant kind where you simply add 2Cups of cold milk then beat until your Carpal Tunnel is *really* hurting. LOL, yeah that kind. Then I gave Sebastian a sheet of finger paint paper and put a blob of pudding on it. He only used his finger to swirl the paint around and then decided to taste it. After he realize he was allowed to eat it, he only wanted to eat it! He make a design in between bites and asked for a refill at one point.
This was really cute and he had a lot of fun. One of my main reasons for doing this craft was because I can already tell I am going to have an issue with MM's Artwork. I want to keep it all. While saving some is okay, it is not to save everything. I need to teach myself that I can take a picture of his art and throwing it away is not being mean. Pudding Art cannot be saved, haha, so I thought this would help me out. It did.
