New Addition To My Family

I am SO excited to report I am getting a new camera!!! And I have really high hopes for this camera, so it better live up to my expectations, haha. First of all, I must say I am a complete amateur and know VERY little about true photography. I won't notice things like white balance being off or if the ISO level is perfect, so it should be easy to please me. I basically just want a really good camera with a macro setting and fast shutter/very low delay.
Currently I own a basic point and shoot digital. It's a Kodak M1093. I got it while pregnant with Sebastian. This camera has served me well, but I had an opportunity to upgrade so I grabbed it!
The new camera is a Pentax X90,

If you want to read up on it, click here. This site gives some great info. Again, I am just a mommy taking photos, so I think this would be a great option for me, don't you?
The camera has been ordered and I am expecting it by Tuesday!! I'll let you know what I think of it, and be forewarned: I may go into serious picture overload mode, haha
Oh, if any of you own this, I'd LOVE to hear some feedback!!

The time has come...

for a revamp. I need this in all aspects of my life. Things have gotten messy and unorganized and are honestly driving me a bit crazy. I am going to try to add more structure and balance to everything, including this blog. I often overlook coming here and I don't want this to be forgotten about. I would love to blog everyday, so that's the ultimate goal. I know it's not super realistic so I will start this new Blog Makeover with 3 goals.
1) Every Monday I make a MM post.
2) Every Wednesday I make a WIUW post
3) Every Month, I redo the background.
OK, number 3 is simply because I have discovered I love playing with the backgrounds on here, haha. It also motivates me to write more as well. Just look at all the inspiration this new look gave me! Now I am thinking of things that need a makeover for real!
Numbers 1-2 will be a part of my new Mommy School. More info on that later!
I know this look kinda screams Suzy Homemaker so loud it may be hard to hear anything else, but I loved it. I think it's fun, bright and cheery.
I also love hearing feedback, so please leave a comment and let me know any suggestions or comments that you may have for me. It can be backgrounds, picture ideas, anything really. Oh and please let me know if I choose something too overwhelming. I do want you to enjoy your read and not hurt your eyes. I would like these new looks to be fun, not distracting, you know?
And I may not say it, but I think it every time I log on. Thanks for visiting!!!

Coffee Helps????

So here I am waiting for 9am because Sebastian nearly ALWAYS wakes up at 9am. I have been sleeping terribly and last night was no exception. My beautiful baby girl wakes ME up each morning at 7am to get ready for school. I hate mornings. I would much rather go to bed at 5am and sleep till noon. Yeah, that sounds nice. Guess I just like night time hours better.
Each morning, I pour myself a cup of hot sweet coffee. I always hear of this addiction. People who "MUST HAVE COFFEE TO FUNCTION" and all that. I don't understand. Is my coffee not strong enough? Do I add too much other crap to it? Too much creamer? Sugar? Is my will for the bed to overpowering that coffee is weakened? Regardless of the scientific reasoning, I still, everyday, aimlessly pour my coffee and wait for the magical effects to jump start my day. They never come. My mornings are pretty routine.
7am> Skylar comes and stands next to my bed, she doesn't have to do anything but walk in my room. I haven't slept and can feel her in there, so I get up. I stumble to the bathroom as she (already dressed cuz who knows when her eyes popped open that day) makes herself some breakfast. I come into the kitchen and try to wipe the sleep out of my eyes as she happily eats and chatters 100MPH about her dream, the shows she has watched already, her plans for the day, etc. By the time she is done with her food, I am basically awake so I fix her hair. She is now 9 and maybe she should be doing this herself, I don't know, but I enjoy it and she can't get it all perfectly smooth on her own and likes me doing it still. Next we come upstairs and I hop online, check Facebook, Email, and the weather. (Then comes that coffee. Maybe I waited to long to have it?) I stand outside with her, drinking the not so magical brew as we wait for her bus. By the time she is on her bus it's about 8:15.
So here I sit, it's about 20 minutes till Sebastian's wake up and I have still yet to feel this boost. Oh well. At least it tastes good.

Mini GreenHouses Update

So Skylar's flower has decided to grow. Sebastian's pepper however isn't doing anything. I will let you know what and when if it does do anything, haha.
Here's Skylar's plant

Today she decided to replant them outside. She chose a hole in the concrete wall as her planter, haha. I hope to see flowers soon!!

Skylar's Birthday Cakes

So for Skylar's actual birthday she wanted to make a cake all by herself. While we were out and about she picked up her ingredients and we headed back home. She completely baked her funfetti cake by herself (the only thing I did was pour the oil-she got the measuring cup out-because it was new and she didn't want to spill it, lol AND I put them in and took them out of the oven...safety first and all that haha) She also decorated this cake by herself. I mixed the colors and showed her how to make up her bags (how to attach tips with a coupler, that sort of thing) but let her work solo. The cake mix made 2 9" round cakes, so she gave me a layer to do as well, lol. I am NO cake decorator but this is still fun. I am pretty new to all this as well, so it's a lot of fun doing a project with her we can do together. Here are some pics

and Mommy's cake, lol
