Big Boy Bed Night 3

Night 3
I did the basic bedtime routine. He seemed ok, and then I left the room. 3minutes later he was screaming for Daddy. I went in to see if I could do anything as daddy was asleep, nope. He wanted Daddy. I went in to tell Hubby and he said to tell him he'd be in there in a minute. I told Sebastian and went to the bathroom. When I came back dear ole daddy was still asleep. I told him Sebastian was waiting on him, but when I peeked in Sebastian's room, he had fallen asleep!
I waited for a while and he stayed asleep.
I went to bed listening carefully for him, but he didn't yell for me. Until....7:55am this morning! YAY, he did amazing!!
Hope tonight is easy too.

Big Boy Bed Night 2

Night 2:
I gave Sebastian his bath, brushed teeth, got him dressed in his room and laid him down. I read him a story, etc whole shebang. Then left. He whined and cried and I went in every 5minute mark to sooth him. He was starting to sound really upset and with his asthma I wasn't sure how long to just let him scream "MOMMY PLEASE!!" yes, it was heart breaking but honestly I was more worried about his lungs.
Well the last time he started crying for Daddy. Makes sense. Daddy does sleep time. I went in to get Hubby to give him some loves and he went in.
Sebastian fell asleep and it took about 1/2 hr  between both of us to get him to sleep.

Sebastian started crying a bit after 11pm. I went in to soothe him, and he was hyperventilating bad. He was begging to get into my bed. He started wheezing and losing oxygen. It was bad. Like a mini asthma attack. I had to get his puffer and everything. After I calmed him down I sat on my bed with him and we had a talk about his new bed. He finally said, "ok mommy I'll go to my bed now" So I took him in there and rubbed his back until he fell asleep. Went back in my room. I listened to him cough and wheeze forever! Once he quieted down, and I checked on him, I felt ok to try and sleep. Next thing I know he's climbing in next to me. Checked clock 4:something. I was fine with it. I just snuggled him and he breathed so much better. I couldn't put him back in there and risk that again already. I didn't realize how hard this would be on his asthma. He was in there for quite a while, so I'm good with the progress so far.

Big Boy Bed

The time has come. I got Sebastian is own bed. He has napped and had bedtime in my bed his entire 29 Months. I made the switch much earlier with Skylar, so I am nervous on how he will handle this new adjustment. He has never had a crib or really slept alone. Daddy sleeps during the day (3rd shift worker) so he handles naps and I'm there at night to handle those. This seems like it will be such an interesting process. Fingers crossed!!
Ok, step 1. I had Sebastian help pick out all his bed things. The bed, mattress, even the bedding. I had recently gotten Baby Peep's bed as well. I set the beds up only 2 days apart to explain to him that now everyone has their own bed. I tried to make it sound as exciting as possible. He seems pretty into it, but I am still concerned.
Step2: The 1st night. This was off to a bad start (although hubby was off, which I wanted for the 1st night) . The day completely got away from us, and he napped oddly, we even were out late. By the time he was settled it was after 11pm. I told Hubby to take him to bed since he was very into being with Daddy. So after the show they were watching, Sebastian fell asleep. Hubby carried him to his bed.
I came to bed around 2:30am, and he was still asleep. At 4am, he cried out. I went in, rubbed his back and he instantly fell back asleep. This happened 3 more times before 6:30. Then at 6:40am Sebastian came into my room and climbed into my bed. I am up at 7am w/Skylar. So really no sleep for Mommy, haha. The wakeups were extremely short, maybe 30seconds of me in his room. He has had some rare nights where he will cry out in his sleep. (nightmare? Molars? no idea) but is very easily shh-ed. I'm hoping this was just one of those nights. I do plan on trying again tonight with his proper bedtime routine.
I'll keep updating!

Happy Birthday Dr.Seuss!!

For Dr.Seuss' birthday, we decided to have a special dinner in his honor. I had other things planned, but alas things don't always go according to plan, do they?
We were also having some tornadoes, etc in our area while I was prepping for our meal, so things were quite rushed.
Of course we had to have Schlopp. Sebastian is very into Dr.Seuss books right now and has the little cardboard book version of The Thinks You Can Think memorized! (along with Wocket in my Pocket) He absolutely adores Schlopp with a cherry on top, so I knew I had to attempt to make it for him. This was my take, and the kids were in love, so I must have done something right! Haha.
Here are a few more pictures of the rest of our meal. Hope you enjoy, and please feel free to comment!!
Tasting a pickle

Haha he is a great pickle selector

Tower of Roast Beast Sandwich's (ok, I cheated and sent hubby to get Arbys for this part haha)

Schlott's Knots

I got them the old school cartoon version of the Lorax. They loved it!
(We also had pink ink drink, but I forgot to get a pic)
